divh2Punch Press Operator I/h2pCadrex is searching for a Punch Press Operator I to produce parts from metal using a punch press, a computer numeric controlled (CNC) piece of equipment that makes precision cuts and punches into metal. Punch Operators monitor machines making sure they are working at full capacity, stocked with needed materials, and well-maintained./ph3Key Responsibilities/h3ulliMeasure completed work to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, and/or rulers./liliExamine completed work for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws/liliRead work orders/production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances/liliLoad work into machine/liliSet-up and start machine, monitor operations, and record operational data/liliTest and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to product specifications, using gauges and hand tools/liliInstall, align, and lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades, or other fixtures in rams or beds of machines, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools/liliClean and lubricate machines/liliPosition, align, and secure work against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies/liliPerform periodic checks on output/liliPerform typical machine shop operations; set up and run, de-bur/liliDetect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designer/liliMaintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures/liliPerform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control plan (including documentation of results)/liliUphold site efficiency standards/liliLearn and demonstrate continuous improvement for site Safety and Quality standards and procedures/liliMeet the standards of the site attendance policy/liliAssist in other work areas as assigned/li/ulh3Preferred Qualifications/h3ulliRead and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
