Field Service Technician

Benefits Pay Range: $18.00‑$24.00/hr (Based on experience) Quarterly bonuses based on incentive program Nationally recognized certifications that boost pay upon completion Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off, paid holidays, FlexPay Tuition reimbursement Company vehicle, gas card, tools, professional uniform, and PPE Defined career pathing opportunities (Lead, Supervisor, Manager, Director) Significant discounts on broadband packages for employees in our service areas Responsibilities Perform new connects, reconnects, disconnects, upgrades, downgrades, and change‑of‑service for phone, internet, or video services Install, relocate, and remove outlets, converters, cable modems, and interior and exterior wiring Install, remove, and replace peripheral equipment and tap plates Assist customers with proper use of equipment Monitor, repair, and record system, drop, and in‑house leakage Assure proper signal levels and picture quality; identify causes of degradation Diagnose and troubleshoot from consumer device to tap, including component replacement Ensure system security by terminating unused ports and locking pedestals Take voltage measurements; understand and apply FCC and NESC technical standards Identify and report all incidents of non‑compliance (FCC, NESC, OSHA, WOW standards) Maintain professional appearance and behavior while providing superior customer service Complete all tasks to WOW! quality standards Maintain excellent attendance Manage company vehicle, equipment inventory, security, and maintenance Replace defective/damaged tap plates; install new taps Test, splice, repair, and replace coax cable; use signal level meters, volt‑OHM meters, spectrum analyzers Perform network troubleshooting including ping, trace routes, and speed tests Assist with training other employees, as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Ability to interact with customers and present technical information to non‑technical audiences Ability to work independently Accurately measure distances using tapes and other measuring devices Proficiency with test equipment (signal level meters, volt‑OHM meters, etc.) Accurate recordkeeping: logs, reports, work orders Operate handheld Field Service Tool application Handle escalations and time‑critical issues Read street maps Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on‑call shifts Valid driver’s license and good driving record Physical Demands and Working Conditions Stand for extended periods and walk over varied terrain in all weather Carry tools and equipment up to 90lbs Work in tight spaces, bend, twist, reach, crawl, kneel, stoop, crouch, pull, push, grasp Climb and use extension ladder (approx. 28ft & 75lbs) Operate power tools, hand tools, and close‑vision tasks Work in environments that may contain dust, dirt, noise, insects, or cleaning solutions Work safely near power lines and electrical equipment Drive company vehicles safely All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
