Job Summary
T he Facility Technician is responsible for the scheduled maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and other installed facility systems to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of the assigned facility. This role supports the long-term preservation of facility assets by maintaining equipment and infrastructure in accordance with applicable codes, standards, safety requirements, and company procedures.
Job Description
- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems in compliance with applicable local codes, standards, and company requirements.
- Conduct routine facility inspections and identify, document, and report conditions that may affect facility operations, safety, reliability, or asset condition.
- Operate and maintain facility equipment and systems, including Building Management Systems (BMS), fire and life safety systems, and other building operating systems.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements, including local, country, and other applicable ordinances and codes.
- Support and coordinate facility management services, including facility operating systems, maintenance processes, repairs, improvements, custodial services, and security operations.
- Coordinate maintenance activities across functions and departments to optimize the productivity and utilization of personnel, equipment, and resources.
- Identify and recommend operating methods, equipment, systems, substitutions, and process improvements that can reduce facility management costs while maintaining or improving service quality and safety.
- Assist with the preparation of contract scopes of work, specifications, and service requirements for facility-related projects and services.
- Administer and monitor facility service agreements and maintenance contracts to ensure services are delivered according to established requirements and standards.
- Ensure consistent implementation of standards for clean, orderly, and professional facilities.
- Support site-based auditing activities to verify compliance with facility standards, maintenance requirements, safety expectations, and operational procedures.
- Coordinate and support campaigns and initiatives designed to maintain a consistent, professional facility image.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection documentation, service reports, and other required facility documentation.
- Communicate maintenance concerns, equipment conditions, and recommended corrective actions to appropriate personnel.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to facility reliability, safety, energy efficiency, cost reduction, and operational performance.
Skills Required
- General knowledge of machine operation and facility equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and the ability to follow applicable codes, standards, and procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and facility-related issues effectively.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in machine maintenance, facility maintenance, or a related technical field.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and facility operating systems.
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Experience with fire and life safety systems.
- Experience coordinating contractors, service providers, or maintenance agreements.
- Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or large-scale facility environment.
Education
- Requi red: High School Diploma or GED required.
Additional requirements
- Sh i ft: 2n d shift Monday - Friday 3:30pm - 2:00am
Pay rate
- $23 - $25 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
