Shift: 3x12 Nights (18:45 - 07:15)

Avg. Daily Census: 22 patients

Years of experience REQ: Minimum 2 years' experience required.

Weekend REQ: Will work every other weekend

Certs REQ: BLS required.

Is on-call REQ? No.

Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Will float to other units within scope as needed

Open to accommodating block schedule? Discuss schedule requests with manager.

Locals accepted: Yes - no radius. Must have active IL license in hand to apply.

RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.

Guaranteed Hours: Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours.

Special Requirements: Med/Surg experience required.

Required Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Skills/Experience: Telemetry- remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams.

Required Gastrointestinal Case Skills/Experience: Colostomy Care, Feeding tube care and management.

Required Genitourinary/Renal Case Skills/Experience: Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure.

Required IV therapy/Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs.

Required Medication Skills/Experience: Heparin, Insulin, PCA.

Required Neurological/Psychiatric Case Skills/Experience: Spinal cord injuries. Ortho trauma experience required. Experience with surgical drains required.

Required Respiratory Case Skills/Experience: CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oral suctioning, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Pre/Post Thoracic Surgery, Tracheostomy Management.

Required Professional Knowledge and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac

Special Procedures/Unit Details: 2G is a 22 bed general status unit that cares for patients coming in for elective bariatric surgery, specialty plastics procedures that require frequent assessments of surgical skin grafts/flaps, patients who come in for management of chronic wounds that may need debridement and frequent wound care, post-op cosmetic surgeries, burns that require frequent assessment/dressing care, and occasionally post-op gynecologic surgeries. Most patients range from older adult to geriatric with at times, adolescent to younger adults. We see an average length of stay of 2 days for bariatric surgery patients, and up to 14-30 days for our complex plastics patients. The 2G patient population provides a robust learning environment where nurses gain experience working in interdisciplinary care planning, medication administration, bedside procedures, and patient/family education. RNs on this unit develop skills in wound management, specialty dressing care, leeching, surgical drain management, VACs, specialty beds, capnography, post-surgical care, NG tube placement, ostomy care, TPN, central lines, and medication management.

Special Equipment: bariatric graded lifts (hoyer and sit-to-stand)

Drips: Heparin; Amiodarone and Lasix are not titrated.
