Health insurance Vision insurance Life Insurance Pet Insurance Health savings account Paid time off Paid holidays Profit sharing Radiation Therapist Lead is an essential member of the Radiation Oncology team who primarily functions in a specialized area of radiation therapy technology in the role of patient care provider/radiation tech supervisor in the Radiation Oncology Center. The Radiation Therapist Lead is responsible for the supervision of all duties relating to the administration of a prescribed course of Radiation Therapy. The Radiation Therapist Lead must be task- and detail-oriented, work under pressure and be able to understand and carry out complex medical prescriptions. The Radiation Therapist Lead must be able to communicate verbally in a clear and concise manner to personnel, patients, and physicians ensuring quality patient care in relation to the patient’s prescribed diagnosis and treatment needs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Identify clinical environmental needs and demonstrate the appropriate follow-up action to address them. Responsible for maintaining weekly chart reviews. Lead fellow therapist(s) in a professional and courteous patient care. Identify clinical environmental needs and demonstrate the appropriate follow-up action to address them. Responsible for maintaining shift reports. Responsible for the initial patient scheduling. Monitors ICD 10 coding for the CPC. Takes lead on machine calibration. Coordinates service calls as necessary. Collaborates with the Chief Radiation Therapist to implement clinical treatment techniques and procedures as necessary. Accurately and efficiently reviews and/or administers daily prescribed Radiation Therapy treatments to patients assigned to the treatment unit at a speed consistent with patient scheduling. Observes and adheres to all department policies concerning Radiation Therapy treatment procedures. Prepares room and equipment for patient by gathering all necessary equipment, supplies, and setup devices. Activates the treatment unit and delivers the prescribed dose of radiation. Maintains visual and/or audible communication with the patient during treatment. Obtains appropriate port films on patients when prescribed; makes adjustments in field placement as needed. Throughout the course of Radiation Therapy, monitors patients for unusual reactions and events, and reports same to Clinical Director and Radiation Oncologist. Keeps immobilization devices in a clean and orderly manner and utilizes the devices as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Keeps records of machine down time and maintains machine fault list report. Performs other position related duties as assigned. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with HIPAA; immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion of the Annual Compliance Training. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS American Registry of Radiologic Technologist - ARRT (T) required. American Society of Radiologic Technologist (ASRT) membership preferred. BLS certification required, ACLS preferred. KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES Excellent organizational skills and the ability to perform well in stressful situations. Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR, Practice Management Solutions. Communication skills and customer service. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines. Respects patient confidentiality. Database management. Strong problem-solving skills. Basic knowledge of Radiation Oncology equipment function to provide for minor repair and troubleshooting for problems; water and gas levels, laser alignment, etc. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Customer-oriented with ability to remain calm in difficult situations. Delivers exceptional patient service throughout all interactions. Skill in using computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office. Ability to build relationships with patients and display empathy and compassion to patients. Ability to work independently and manage deadlines. Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Complies with all health and safety policies of the organization. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or equivalent required. Three (3) year certificate from college or technical school in Radiation Therapy certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required. Graduate of AMA accredited program in Radiation Therapy Technology required. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
