Description

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist for a surgery center position, requiring current Colorado licensure and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Ambulatory surgery center setting in the operating room/surgical services department
• 3x12-hour day shifts
• Cares for patients across all age groups, from neonatal/infant through geriatric populations
• Handles Tier 1 surgical cases

Requirements

• Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program and/or Licensed Surgical Technologist required
• Current Colorado state license as a Surgical Technologist required (license required if applicable)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Working knowledge of AORN standards
• Basic computer skills necessary for online learning and documentation systems
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs

Additional Information

• Maintains sterile and aseptic technique while providing instrumentation to the surgical team
• Ensures proper packaging, processing, and sterility of surgical items and equipment
• Monitors the sterile field for contamination risks and initiates corrective action as needed
• Participates fully in Time Out Process, including briefings and debriefings
• Assists with patient transport, room turnover, and room preparation
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization
• Functions under the direction of a Registered Nurse
• Must be HIPAA compliant and maintain professional behavior with current knowledge of surgical technologies
• CAPS registration required and may take up to two weeks to obtain
