Job Roles and Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate electrical estimates for custom luxury residential projects.

• Review architectural, electrical, lighting, and low-voltage plans and specifications.

• Perform quantity takeoffs and labor calculations.

• Develop material pricing through supplier quotations and vendor relationships.

• Prepare detailed bids and proposals using the McCormick Estimating System.

• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities.

• Coordinate with project managers for smooth project turnover.

• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings.

• Maintain organized estimating files and historical cost databases.

• Monitor labor costs, material pricing, and market trends.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and bid strategy.

• Collaborate with vendors, builders, architects, and internal teams.

Qualifications and CertificationsRequired

• Minimum 5 years of electrical estimating experience.

• Extensive experience estimating high-end residential electrical projects.

• Proficiency with the McCormick Estimating System.

• Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems, lighting controls, generators, and service installations.

• Ability to interpret architectural and electrical construction drawings.

• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.

Preferred

• Previous field experience in high-end residential electrical construction.

• Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician background.

• Experience with Bluebeam Revu or similar digital takeoff software.

• Knowledge of NEC requirements and residential electrical codes.

• Experience working with luxury home builders, architects, and designers.
