PACU and OR Staff Nurse

DuPage Eye Surgery Center

Job Description

DuPage Eye Surgery is an ophthalmology surgery center currently seeking full time PreOp/Postop and OR RNs to provide nursing care to our surgical patients. The shifts consist of Full time Monday - Friday with benefits. Employees do not work weekends and the facility observe 6 paid holidays for full time employees.

PACU Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of our surgical patients in the pre and post-anesthesia unit.
Communicating accurate and timely information regarding patients and their care efficiently.
Organizing a plan of care that incorporates physician prescribed treatments, nursing assessments and diagnostic data in a timely manner.

OR Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Circulating various Ophthalmology cases.
Ensures patient safety during surgery.
Monitors the implementation of sterile technique.
Documents nursing care.
Addresses any environmental hazards.
Ensures the scrub team is appropriately prepared,

Requirements for the position are:

Current IL RN License
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
BLS certification / ACLS certification preferred
Two years or more of PACU or OR experience preferred
Ability to multitask and prioritize
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and co-workers
