Forklift Warehouse Technician - Seed ProductionThis position supports seed production and warehouse operations with a primary focus on operating sit-down electric forklifts, material handling, inventory control, and seed packaging. The role involves moving and storing products, loading and unloading materials, maintaining inventory accuracy using RF scanners and computer systems, and assisting with basic equipment maintenance. Candidates should be comfortable lifting 35-65 lbs., following safety procedures, and working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate sit-down electric forklifts to move, store, and organize seed products.Load, unload, stack, and transport seed bags and pallets.Support seed processing, packaging, labeling, and warehouse activities.Use RF scanners and inventory systems to track product movement.Perform data entry and maintain accurate production and inventory records.Assist with packaging equipment operation and basic equipment maintenance.Follow safety procedures and SOPs while meeting production goals.Cross-train in warehouse, packaging, and dock operations as needed.Qualifications1-3 years of warehouse or production experience.Minimum 1 year of forklift experience, preferably on sit-down electric forklifts.Experience with inventory systems, RF scanners, and computer data entry.Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.Ability to lift 35-65 lbs. repeatedly and work on your feet for extended periods.Strong teamwork, reliability, and communication skills.Work EnvironmentPrimarily warehouse-based with some seed processing and packaging duties. Standard hours are typically 6:00 AM-2:30 PM, with occasional schedule adjustments and overtime during peak seasons. Temperatures may vary, including cooler storage areas around 50°F. The role requires frequent lifting, bending, standing, sitting, and operating warehouse equipment in a team-oriented environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
