HVAC Service Technician

Position Summary: We’re hiring a knowledgeable and customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. You’ll also play a key part in delivering an exceptional customer experience and helping homeowners make informed decisions about their comfort systems. Key Responsibilities: Repair & Maintain Systems: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems to ensure efficiency, performance, and safety. Conduct preventative maintenance and system tune‑ups. Diagnose System Issues: Use gauges, meters, and other diagnostic tools to identify system problems and recommend solutions. Clearly communicate findings and options to customers. Code Compliance & Safety: Adhere to local, state, and national HVAC codes (EPA, OSHA). Use proper PPE, handle refrigerants safely, and maintain job site cleanliness. Customer Communication: Deliver high‑level service and clearly explain issues, repair options, and estimates. Recommend upgrades or memberships with professionalism and integrity. Present a minimum of 3 options to each customer to match their needs. Documentation & Invoicing: Accurately document service calls, diagnostics, and repairs in the CRM. Handle invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely and organized manner. Tools, Equipment & Vehicle Care: Maintain your own basic tools. Keep company vehicles clean and organized. Track inventory and report any shortages or malfunctions. Training & Team Support: Stay current through ongoing training and team meetings. Work with dispatchers, sales staff, and junior techs to ensure job success and company growth. Professionalism & Teamwork: Wear the company uniform, keep work areas clean, and represent R3 Heating & Air with pride. Be willing to take on rotating on‑call shifts and mentor newer team members. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): First Time Fix Rate (FTFR): Maintain a minimum of 80% On-Time Arrival Rate: 95%+ Upsell Rate (filters, humidifiers, thermostats): Goal of 20%+ What We’re Looking For: Experience servicing HVAC systems in residential or commercial settings Strong diagnostic, repair, and communication skills Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and HVAC codes and standards Organized, dependable, and customer-service driven Ability to use diagnostic tools and CRM software Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Compensation & Benefits: Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience Health Insurance: Offered after 90 days of employment Paid Time Off & Vacation: Available after 90 days of employment Career Growth: Opportunities for advancement and ongoing training All offers are contingent on a background screening. #J-18808-Ljbffr R3 Roofing & Exteriors | R3 Heating & Air
