Registered Nurse – Psychiatric Unit

Shift options: 2x12s and 2x8 OR 5x8 available

Requirements:

Valid state RN license
BLS certification
Psychiatric/mental health nursing experience
Documentation experience in shift notes, nursing assessments, and weekly/monthly notes

Roles & Responsibilities:

Administer medications and conduct nursing assessments for psychiatric patients
Document shift notes, nursing assessments, and complete assigned weekly/monthly notes
Support and foster a therapeutic milieu engaging with patients
Participate in patient care alongside Mental Health Therapy Aides
Assume charge nurse responsibilities when assigned and collaborate with team members

Compliance / Notes:

Meal break is 1 hour; cannot be combined with a 15-minute break
If unable to take a break, notify the nursing supervisor immediately
Sleeping on the patient unit is prohibited; any rest during breaks must be in a non-patient area
Requires submittal of SSN, DOB, and RTO at the time of application
Shift swaps require approval from the CNO/ADON and a signed form by both staff members
