Job Description
The Warehouse Worker plays a key role in a clean, modern distribution center by supporting shipping, receiving, picking, packing, and inventory management activities. This position follows a structured AM/PM schedule across four different shifts and requires working every other Wednesday. You will operate material handling equipment, use RF barcode scanning devices, and help ensure that orders are processed accurately and on time in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

• Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including unloading, loading, and verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Pick and pack customer orders accurately using RF (bar-code scan) devices and established procedures.
• Support inventory management by counting, tracking, and organizing stock to maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, stand-up forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers in a safe and efficient manner, as qualified.
• Use RF barcode scanning devices to locate, identify, and record product movements throughout the warehouse.
• Delegate orders and communicate clearly with team members to coordinate workflow and meet deadlines.
• Resolve basic issues related to order status and escalate more complex problems when necessary.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, multitasking under time constraints while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures to maintain a safe work area.
• Contribute to a positive team environment through good interpersonal communication and collaboration.
• Adapt to a rotating schedule that includes AM/PM shifts, weekend work, and every other Wednesday.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Generally 0-2 years of experience for entry-level roles; 1-2 years of warehouse experience preferred for intermediate-level roles.
• Warehouse experience in shipping, receiving, picking, packing, or inventory management preferred.
• Ability to use RF (bar-code scan) devices or willingness to learn.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate assertively and delegate orders when needed.
• Ability to resolve basic problems related to order status.
• Capacity to multitask under time constraints and in stressful, fast-paced situations.
• Willingness and ability to work AM/PM shifts, weekends, and every other Wednesday as part of a rotating schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, stand-up forklifts, and stand-up reach trucks.
• Experience using pallet jacks and order picker equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership experience is a plus.
• Experience in a distribution center environment is preferred.
• Comfort working with technology and handheld scanning devices.

Work Environment
This role is based in a clean distribution center that operates on AM/PM shifts across four different schedules: Sunday through Tuesday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with every team member working every other Wednesday. You work in a fast-paced setting that uses RF barcode scanning devices and a variety of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, stand-up forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and adherence to established procedures while supporting efficient movement of goods throughout the facility.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
