Purchasing Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a Purchasing Manager for an established manufacturing firm in the Jacksonville metropolitan area who will perform strategic procurement activities across multiples categories of spending.

The Purchasing Manager supervises the process of sourcing and purchasing essential materials for production operations; researches material suppliers, compares costs and works closely with production operations to ensure alignment of material procurement and receipt; investigates alternatives to streamline inventory levels and implements effective solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and develop the purchasing team.
Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, pricing, and contracts.
Monitor supplier performance, quality, and on-time delivery.
Analyze MRP/ERP data, inventory levels, forecasts, and production schedules.
Identify potential shortages, excess inventory, and supply risks.
Partner with Production, Operations, Engineering, and Quality to support production.
Identify cost-reduction opportunities and monitor purchasing performance.
Drive process improvements and purchasing best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing.
2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
Strong negotiation, analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with inventory planning, forecasting, and supplier management preferred.
