HR Operations AssociateLocation: New York, NYSchedule: HybridIndustry: Investment Management / Financial ServicesExperience: 4+ yearsPosition OverviewA leading investment firm in New York City is seeking an experienced HR Operations Associate to join its Human Resources team. This individual will play a critical role in the day-to-day administration of the firm’s HR operations, with primary responsibility for payroll processing and oversight, alongside benefits administration, compensation support, and HRIS management.The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of progressive HR Operations experience and must be thoroughly proficient in managing payroll processes within a fast-paced, highly professional environment. Experience within financial services, investment management, private equity, asset management, or another sophisticated professional services organization is strongly preferred.This is a highly visible role that will partner closely with HR leadership, Finance, employees, and external vendors while helping ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of the firm’s HR programs and systems.Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Processing & AdministrationOwn and/or manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on schedule.Review payroll changes including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, bonuses, deductions, benefits elections, and other employee changes.Conduct detailed payroll audits and reconciliations prior to final submission.Partner closely with Finance and external payroll providers to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate payroll reporting.Maintain payroll records and support year-end payroll activities, audits, and reporting requirements.Serve as an internal subject matter resource for employee payroll questions and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner.Ensure payroll processes and employee data are maintained with a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail.Benefits AdministrationSupport the administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, and other offerings.Manage benefits-related employee changes, enrollments, terminations, and qualifying life events.Partner with benefits brokers, carriers, and other external vendors to resolve employee issues and maintain accurate records.Assist with annual open enrollment and benefits communications.Reconcile benefits information across payroll, HRIS, and vendor platforms.CompensationSupport the administration of the firm’s compensation programs, including base salary changes, bonuses, and other compensation-related transactions.Assist with annual compensation and performance management cycles.Maintain accurate compensation data within the HRIS and other internal systems.Prepare compensation reports and analysis for HR leadership as needed.Partner with HR leadership and Finance to ensure compensation changes are accurately reflected in payroll.HRIS & HR OperationsOversee the accuracy and integrity of employee data within the firm’s HRIS.Process employee lifecycle transactions including new hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, leaves, and terminations.Produce recurring and ad hoc HR reports for HR leadership and other internal stakeholders.Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, workflows, reporting, and system utilization.Support HRIS upgrades, implementations, integrations, and process enhancements as needed.Maintain employee records and documentation while ensuring appropriate confidentiality and data integrity.Assist with broader HR Operations projects and initiatives across the employee lifecycle.Qualifications4+ years of experience in HR Operations, Payroll, Total Rewards, or a related HR function.Strong, hands-on payroll processing experience is required.Demonstrated ability to independently manage or play a significant role in an organization’s payroll process.Experience with benefits administration, compensation management, and HRIS oversight.Experience within investment management, financial services, private equity, asset management, hedge funds, or professional services is preferred.Strong working knowledge of HR systems and payroll platforms.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large amounts of employee and compensation data.Exceptional attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to data accuracy.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to handle highly confidential employee and compensation information with discretion.Proactive, service-oriented mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.The SR Group (US), Inc. is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.Please note that your personal information will be treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
