Date Posted: 2026-06-16 Location: Portsmouth, RI, United States What You Will Do Serve as the primary representative of the AN/AQS‑20 SONAR MHS Chief Engineer in the Office of the Chief Engineer. Lead the AN/AQS‑20 program as a technical and people leader, managing a large, multi‑disciplined team. Ensure engineering and OCE processes, policies, directives, and initiatives are deployed, implemented, and executed. Represent Engineering, the OCE, and the AN/AQS‑20 to senior external leaders and customers. Deploy engineering resources across the program as needed. Identify, address, and resolve engineering issues on time. Balance technical, cost, and schedule priorities on programmatically significant tasks and pursuits. Travel as required to Raytheon and customer locations domestically and internationally. Maintain an active DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship status throughout employment. Salary range: $132,400 – $251,600 USD. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Experience leading a large, multi‑disciplined technical team. Experience interacting with senior internal leadership and external customers. Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship. Strong communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to operate independently with strong judgment. Preferred Qualifications Master’s or other advanced STEM degree. Prior experience as a Raytheon Chief Engineer. Experience as a people leader (e.g., IPT Lead, Section Leader, Department Leader). Experience in development, production, maintenance, and sustainment of military products and services. Experience executing naval programs with Navy personnel. Familiarity with Mine Warfare programs and products. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
