Yard Worker/Forklift Operator

Job Title: Loader Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Loader to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks with landscaping products such as tube sand, cement mix, and hardscapes. You will also assist will-call customers. The shift start and end times will fluctuate based on the workload. During the winter months (November to February), you will help out in the plant when yard work slows down. This position involves a quick process in a fast-paced environment, with an expectation to load trucks within 15-25 minutes. You will be loading 70-80 trucks a day, operating sit-down forklifts with enclosed cabs capable of lifting 12,000 pounds and handling two pallets at a time.
Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks with landscaping products.
• Assist will-call customers with their orders.
• Operate sit-down forklifts with enclosed cabs, capable of lifting 12,000 pounds.
• Help out in the plant during slower winter months.
• Maintain a quick and efficient loading process, aiming to load trucks in 15-25 minutes.
• Perform manual labor outside of forklift operations.

Essential Skills

• Forklift operation experience, especially with 12,000 lb lifts.
• Past experience with scan guns.
• Previous warehouse experience is required.
• Ability to perform extremely physical tasks, lifting up to 80 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
• Familiarity with material handling and inventory management.
• Comfortable with repetitive and monotonous tasks.

Work Environment
Work in a small shop with 4-5 employees, within a pre-mix concrete plant. Expect conditions to be cold in the winter and hot in the summer, with a messy and dusty environment. Our company is a global supplier of building and landscaping products, including hardscapes and masonry, packaged cement mixes, lawn and garden materials, and composite decking.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane Valley, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
