Spotswood Elementary School Office Paraeducator 2627 SY

The Office Paraeducator will assist teachers and other professional practitioners by providing administrative support to further enhance the efficiency and productivity of educational environments.

Essential Job Functions:

• Greets incoming personnel to include the check-in/out procedures of students parents and other visitors.
• Performs routine clerical duties such as copying typing answering/making telephone calls taking attendance ordering supplies and basic troubleshooting.
• Generates reports on student attendance creates letters to parents regarding student absences.
• Creates and maintains the student attendance database and student records.
• Prepares homework requests per student absences.
• Sorts and distributes all interoffice/postal mail as necessary.
• Works in areas other than the classroom i.e. computer lab or library as appropriate
• Performs additional non-instructional duties including but not limited to cafeteria duty bus duty hall duty and office duty as assigned by the principal or designee
• Requests transportation for students as needed.

Education and Experience:

Required

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred

• Associates Degree from an accredited college or university
• A minimum of two (2) years working with children within an instructional educational or related setting
