Sterile Processing Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a Certified Central Sterile Processing Technician to support the Central Sterile Processing Department at Glens Falls Hospital. The technician will be responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, preparing, and distributing surgical instruments and equipment for pediatric and adult patients. Responsibilities: Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments. Prepare surgical trays and equipment for operating room procedures. Support 16 operating rooms, including Labor & Delivery C-sections. Handle instruments for Neuro, Ortho, ENT, Thoracic, Vascular, General, and Gynecology procedures. Follow infection control and sterile processing standards. Work efficiently in a team-oriented environment. Use EPIC and follow hospital procedures. Requirements: 2 years of current Sterile Processing experience Required HSPA (IAHCSMM) certification Required BLS certification Required Certified Central Sterile Technician. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Travel experience preferred. Current skills checklist and work history required. 1 supervisory reference from the past 2 years required. Certifications must be submitted with the profile. Additional Information: Patient Population: Pediatric to Adult Approximately 50 procedures/day COVID vaccination encouraged but not required Maximum 5 days of RTO accepted; RTO must be submitted with the profile. 14-panel drug screen must be completed within 24 hours of offer acceptance.
