Product Manager, Data Location: Richmond or McLean 3 days on site between Mon-Thurs Length: EOY to start, 6mo - 1yr is the managers ideal approval Data Product Manager Job Summary We are seeking a Data Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, and lifecycle management of enterprise data products and platforms. This role combines product management expertise with a strong understanding of data ecosystems, including data pipelines, data quality, governance, analytics, and cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will partner with business stakeholders, data engineers, software engineers, analysts, and leadership teams to deliver scalable, high-quality data products that enable reporting, analytics, machine learning, and business decision-making. The role requires ownership of product vision, roadmap prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and measurable business outcomes. Key Responsibilities Define and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for enterprise data products. Own the end-to-end lifecycle of data products, from ideation through delivery and adoption. Partner closely with Data Engineering teams to build and enhance data pipelines, data services, and data platforms. Translate business requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, and technical specifications. Prioritize product backlogs based on customer needs, business value, risk, and technical complexity. Establish and monitor KPIs related to data quality, accessibility, reliability, adoption, and business impact. Drive improvements to data governance, metadata management, lineage, and data catalog capabilities. Collaborate with analytics, reporting, finance, risk, and technology teams to ensure data products meet business objectives. Lead cross-functional teams to solve complex data-related challenges and deliver scalable solutions. Communicate product strategy, progress, and outcomes to executives and key stakeholders. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Analytics, Statistics, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Data Management, Business Analytics, or Technology. Experience working with large-scale data platforms, data warehouses, or data lakes. Strong knowledge of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration concepts. Experience partnering with Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and Analytics teams. Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Experience defining product roadmaps and measuring success through data-driven metrics. Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS. Working knowledge of SQL and data modeling concepts. Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, and regulatory requirements. Experience supporting analytics, AI, or machine learning initiatives. Financial services, fintech, or highly regulated industry experience. Agile, Scrum, or Product Management certifications preferred.
