Travel Nurse RN - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - $2,160 per week in San Diego, CA

Position Overview Registered Nurse (RN) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Location: San Diego, CA Agency: Prime Staffing Pay: $2,160 per week Shift: 3 days per week, 12‑hour shifts (day 07:00‑19:00 and night 19:00‑07:00) Contract duration: 13 weeks Start date: 8/3/2026 Responsibilities Provide advanced nursing care to neonates and infants in a Level 4 NICU environment. Manage high‑risk deliveries, central line and implanted line care, ventilator support (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP). Deliver post‑operative and pre‑operative care for surgical NICU patients, including gastroschisis/omphalocele, abdominal surgeries, myelomeningocele, tracheostomy and G‑tube placement. Perform line changes with multiple drips, manage specialty gases, PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC/UVC PAL lines, tracheostomies, ostomies, G‑tubes. Assist with neonatal resuscitation and advanced resuscitation protocols (NRP, PALS, BLS). Float as needed to the hospital’s PICU, CVICU, Med‑Surg and other satellite NICU locations. Qualifications Current California RN license (or pending license if received before start). Minimum 2 years of NICU Level 4 experience or proven Level 3 NICU surgical experience. Certifications: BLS, Advanced NRP; PALS preferred. Experience with high‑acuity surgical NICU cases and post‑operative management. Strong knowledge of ventilator management, line care, and neonatal pharmacology. Ability to work flexible 12‑hour shift rotations (day/night) and to be available for weekend coverage. Must possess own reliable transportation; mileage reimbursed from base NICU to satellite campuses. Special Requirements Must be able to float to Pediatric ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, and Med‑Surg units within scope. No dedicated weekend requirement, but must be flexible to work weekends as scheduled. Allowed to work a 13‑week continuous contract with a maximum of 6 days return‑to‑off‑site (RTO). Transportation to satellite campuses required (Rancho Springs, Palomar, Scripps Hillcrest, La Jolla, Encinitas). Must complete required compliance and orientation within specified time frames.
