MercyOne Clinton has a staff of more than 800 employees, making it one of the community's largest employers.Join the MercyOne Family!Schedule: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am, every third weekend and holiday rotationPosition Purpose:Provides and directs safe, effective and culturally competent care for high risk, critically acute patients with actual or potential life-threatening conditions. Through evidence-based practice, utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement and evaluate outcome-based care of patients. Provides care to critically ill patients including cardiovascular and surgical patients. May assume responsibilities and accountability for assigned ECMO patients. Supervises and coordinates care provided to patients by the LPN, Patient Care Assistants and other nursing team members. Facilitates communication with physicians, patient and family, other departments and/or team members. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of MercyOne.Essential Functions:Conducts an initial assessment to gather dataIdentifies patient problems and develops them into an outcome/goal-based plan of careImplements the outcome/goal-based plan of careEvaluates patient progress and revises the outcome/goal-based plan as neededCommunicates relevant clinical information to the team to optimize patient outcomes/goalsDemonstrates clinical competenceBased on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unitCollects, analyzes, interprets and applies age-specific dataAdheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and proceduresMaintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behaviorMinimum Qualifications:Associate degree required, BSN preferred.No experience required; critical care nursing experience preferred.Current Iowa RN license, (current IL license if working in IL).BLS, Mandatory Reporter. ACLS within 12 months of hire.
