Certified Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant – Oncology

Schedule: 5 x 8-hour days

Requirements:

• Certification: MA-C, BLS
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in a clinical setting
• EMR: Experience with Epic is required

Skills:

• Obtaining vital signs and rooming patients
• Preparing rooms for procedures and assisting providers
• Basic specimen handling and point-of-care testing
• Administering injections/immunizations within scope
• Supporting medication-related tasks, including pharmacy communication
• Phone triage and scheduling

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Rooming patients and collecting vitals
• Preparing rooms for outpatient infusion appointments
• Assisting providers to support workflow in an oncology infusion setting
• Performing basic specimen handling and labeling
• Conducting point-of-care testing as required
• Providing phone triage and scheduling assistance as needed

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 40 hours
• References: 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required during the compliance process.
