Job Title: Food Operator

Job Description

This role operates food filling equipment in a refrigerated production environment that produces hummus and salsa. You will set up, run, and monitor filler machines that dispense product into plastic containers while following strict food safety, quality, and cleanliness standards on a 2nd shift schedule.

Essential Skills

• Experience tending to a machine while performing various tasks at once.
• Basic troubleshooting skills, including adjusting seals, adding cups, and adding lids on machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
• Comfort using a computer, including navigating between applications on a computer or smartphone.
• Experience using a scale and understanding weight measurements, including adding and subtracting to achieve correct weights.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and policies related to food safety, SQF, and GMP standards.
• Capability to work in a cold, refrigerated environment for the duration of the shift.
• Willingness to wear full PPE, including lab coat, hair net, beard net as needed, and rubber gloves.

Work Environment

The role is based in a food and beverage production facility where hummus and salsa are manufactured. Most production areas are cold and refrigerated to maintain product quality, so you will work in low temperatures for extended periods. You must be comfortable fully suiting up in appropriate personal protective equipment, including a lab coat, hair net, beard net as applicable, and rubber gloves while in the food areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ferndale, MI.

The pay range for this position is $16.25 - $16.25/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Ferndale,MI.
