PCT Health Unit Coordinator Nights

Job Summary The Patient Care Technician - Health Unit Coordinator handles clerical and patient care tasks under a licensed nurse's supervision at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Waxahachie, TX. Location & Schedule Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Waxahachie, TX – Full‑time night shift (3 twelve‑hour shifts per week, rotating weekends). Responsibilities Collect and record patient data, including vital signs, nutritional intake, output, and blood glucose monitoring. Assist patients with hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility; change linen; respond promptly to call lights; may act as sitter for patients needing observation. Complete and maintain unit and patient records: admissions, surgeries, transfers, discharges, medical records, physician call lists, and facility boards. Prepare reports, purchase orders, projects, memos, and letters via computer programs. Greeter and telephone duties: answer phones, contact nursing team, staff, track call light response times, assign devices. Assist with errands and supply management; run equipment and inventory tasks; perform non‑medical duties as needed (e.g., coffee, transport, blankets). Clean patient bedside units, nursing areas, and equipment. Attend in‑services, unit meetings, and conferences. Key Success Factors Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Maintain patient confidentiality. Professional, positive, cooperative with patients, families, and staff at all levels. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: Less than 1 year of experience. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
