Statehouse Varsity 11 E 17th Ave Columbus, OH 43201, USA Position Turn Team Member (temporary/seasonal) Compensation Hourly / Non-Exempt / Non-Benefit Eligible Summary Student housing turns typically last 10-21 days, where hundreds of students are moving out of a single community just days before a fresh crop is moving back in. Each day you will be assigned a list of areas or units that need some level of attention. Projects can include assisting with unit trash outs, groundskeeping, assisting maintenance with HVAC or preventative maintenance projects, furniture assembly and installation, and helping residents on move‑in day. Responsibilities Furniture installation: unload, deliver, assemble and clean up furniture that arrives during turn. Must be physically able to lift 50 pounds or more and operate small tools such as Allen wrenches. Groundskeeping: pick up exterior trash, mowing, edging, trimming bushes, planting flowers, walking hallways and common areas, emptying trash bins, and other beautification tasks. Housekeeping: sweep and mop floors; wipe down common areas and fitness equipment; clean offices and bathrooms; perform floor treatments or carpet shampooing to maintain the community. Move‑in day assistance: help residents and families move in quickly and safely, interact courteously with customers, and report any incidents or complaints to the Community Manager. Maintenance assistance: support the maintenance team on punch lists (light bulbs, air filters, batteries), minor repairs, major repairs, painting touch‑ups, and preventative maintenance projects such as testing emergency systems or cleaning compactor rooms. Occupied bedroom access: only enter while accompanied by an on‑site team member; all interactions with residents, families, and guests are professional and limited. Use of provided equipment: stay hydrated, wear proper safety gear, and protect yourself from the elements while working outside.
