Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $32–$42 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis — ideal for technicians making the move up I-25 from the Albuquerque and New Mexico area

Shift: 40 hours per week; 4x10 or 5x8 schedule depending on operational needs; premium compensation for overtime, weekend rotations, and AOG responses

Job Summary

Keep a high-volume GA piston fleet consistently airworthy while expanding your technical range into advanced avionics integration and structural repairs. Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance, this role offers genuine upward mobility within a growing operation—one with the fleet diversity, technical ambition, and team culture to make it worth the drive north on I-25.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance on an active general aviation piston fleet with speed and precision
• Conduct and authorize annual and 100-hour inspections in full compliance with 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and avionics system faults with a systematic, methodical approach
• Support major avionics integration projects spanning basic GPS and radio installations through full modern flight deck and autopilot upgrades
• Execute minor structural and sheet metal modifications in accordance with airframe-specific requirements
• Source and apply technical schematics, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, and OEM manuals to resolve mechanical anomalies
• Log all maintenance actions promptly and accurately into digital maintenance tracking software
• Maintain the hangar and personal workspace to a consistent standard of cleanliness and organization
• Contribute to AOG response coverage and rotational weekend duties as operational needs require

Minimum Requirements

• Active FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on GA piston aircraft maintenance experience as a certificated technician
• Demonstrated track record completing and signing off on 100-hour inspections
• Solid foundational capability troubleshooting electrical systems and avionics faults
• Strong working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91
• Must supply a personal set of basic aviation hand tools
• Detail-oriented on paperwork and documentation; clear communicator with fellow crew members
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and operate safely around standard aviation chemicals and noise environments

Ideal Qualifications

• Current Inspection Authorization (IA)
• Direct hands-on experience with modern avionics suites including Garmin G1000, Avidyne, or comparable integrated flight deck systems
• Practical background in airframe structural repair and sheet metal work
• Turboprop maintenance experience as the operation expands into that category
• Prior supervisory or lead technician experience
• History working in high-utilization fleet environments such as flight academies or active training operations
