Our collaborative, family-centered culture offers the opportunity to work alongside engaged colleagues who are committed to advancing patient care and clinical excellence.Position SummaryThe Lead Ultrasound Technologist performs high-quality obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations in a comprehensive Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Imaging Center. This individual serves as a clinical leader within the imaging team, supporting advanced prenatal diagnostic services, including fetal imaging and fetal procedures. Working closely with Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians, sonographers, genetic counselors, nursing staff, scheduling personnel, and administrative leaders, this role helps ensure exceptional patient care, imaging excellence, and operational effectiveness. The position also supports the training and development of future sonographers through the coordination and oversight of ultrasound student clinical rotations.ResponsibilitiesServe as a lead clinical resource within the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Imaging Center.Support workflow coordination, staff onboarding, and mentorship of sonography team members.Coordinate and facilitate ultrasound student clinical rotations, providing clinical guidance and instruction.Collaborate with Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians, genetic counselors, and multidisciplinary team members to support comprehensive prenatal diagnostic and procedural services.Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures using appropriate techniques and protocols.Select appropriate transducers and adjust equipment settings to ensure optimal image quality and diagnostic accuracy.Verify patient clinical history and evaluate relevant test results and imaging.Position and transfer patients safely and provide immobilization devices as needed.Assist physicians during specialized procedures.Report malfunctioning sonographic and related equipment.Assist in maintaining adequate supplies and operational readiness.Support departmental accreditation and recertification activities.PreferredMinimum of four years of obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound experienceExperience in Maternal-Fetal Medicine or an advanced prenatal imaging environment stronglyFetal echocardiography certification and/or experiencePrevious experience mentoring sonographers, serving as a preceptor, or supporting ultrasound student educationRequiredHigh school diploma or GED requiredGraduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology programRegistered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)BCLS certification requiredIf working in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Imaging Center, a minimum of three years of direct obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound experience is required, including experience in Maternal-Fetal Medicine or another advanced prenatal imaging environmentPrevious experience mentoring sonographers, serving as a preceptor, or supporting ultrasound student education preferredStrong verbal and written communication skillsComputer literacy requiredJoin a healthcare system where employee engagement is at an all-time high.
