Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred

License: RN License in Texas or compact

Certifications: Current BLS certification required, Current ACLS certification required

Must-Have: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred, One year of experience in critical care setting preferred, but new graduates will be considered

Description: The competent nurse practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies such as Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with nursing standards of practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Using appropriate protocols, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
