Senior AccountantFTAI owns and maintains commercial jet engines with a focus on the Maintenance, Repair and Exchange (MRE) of CFM56 and V2500 engines. FTAI's proprietary portfolio of products, including The Module Factory and a joint venture to distribute engine PMA, helps make CFM56 and V2500 engine maintenance simpler, more cost-effective, significantly faster, and more environmentally friendly. FTAI invests in aviation assets and aerospace products that generate strong and stable cash flows with the potential for earnings growth and asset appreciation.FTAI operates globally with offices in New York, Miami, Montreal, Singapore, Dubai, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.The Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Accounting Manager by owning critical components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy of financial reporting, and providing oversight across day-to-day accounting activities. This role will also provide guidance and support accounts payable personnel while ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading meetings with cross-functional teams when necessary.This role requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment while identifying opportunities for process improvement.Responsibilities:Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closeSupport execution of the full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reportingOversee and review accounts payable activities, including invoice coding, approvals, and payment processing, and assist with complex or escalated issuesAssist with accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, cash application, and follow up on outstanding balancesPerform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepanciesSupport fixed asset accounting, including maintaining schedules and recording depreciation and amortizationReconcile WIP accounts and ensure accuracy of related balancesReconcile corporate credit cards on a monthly basisEnsure proper GL allocations across transactions and financial reportingEnsure proper inventory transactions and cost allocations are flowing accurately from work ordersPrepare periodic controls in accordance with Sarbanes-OxleyMaintain vendor and customer relationships, resolving issues and ensuring smooth communicationAssist with annual physical inventory counts and perform related reconciliationsAnalyze expenses and account activity to ensure accuracy, proper coding, and identify trends or variancesEnsure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and a strong internal control environmentSupport internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and documentation requestsPartner cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, and Finance teams to resolve discrepancies and improve workflowsIdentify and implement process improvements across accounting and transactional functionsQualifications:Required:Strong understanding of general accounting principles, including debits and creditsExperience with reconciliations, accounts payable, and financial reporting supportProficiency in Excel and accounting systemsAbility to work onsite Monday through Friday in Miami, FLPreferred:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance4 to 6+ years of progressive accounting experienceExperience within aviation or MRO industryQuantum ERP highly preferredSelf-starter with strong organizational and communication skillsDemonstrated professionalism, accountability, and ability to operate with integrity and humilityAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentEqual Opportunity Employment Statement:Our company is an equal opportunity employer.
