Operations Manager – Logistics & Transportation MVD Express LLC | Oklahoma City, OK

About the Role

MVD Express LLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead our Logistics & Transportation operations in Oklahoma City, OK.

IMPORTANT: AIR FREIGHT EXPERIENCE IS MANDATORY . Candidates must have previous hands-on experience working with air freight operations. Applicants without air freight experience will NOT be considered for this position.

This position requires a hands-on logistics professional who understands time-sensitive air freight operations and can manage daily operations, coordinate drivers and freight, solve transportation issues, and provide excellent service to customers and business partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily logistics and transportation operations, including dispatch, pickups, deliveries, recoveries, and freight coordination.
• Manage routing, scheduling, fleet utilization, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate time-sensitive air freight and final-mile transportation services .
• Supervise, train, support, and evaluate dispatchers, drivers, warehouse personnel, and operations staff.
• Monitor shipments and resolve delays, missed appointments, routing issues, refusals, damaged freight, and other operational challenges.
• Coordinate with airlines, freight forwarders, carriers, vendors, agents, warehouses, and customers.
• Manage load planning and transportation schedules across multiple service areas and transportation lanes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable DOT regulations, transportation safety requirements, and company policies .
• Maintain accurate operational records, shipment documentation, PODs, photos, and required paperwork.
• Enter, update, and manage shipment alerts accurately in the Crown system.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding shipment status, scheduling, service issues, and special requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer service.

Requirements

• AIR FREIGHT EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED — applicants without previous air freight experience will not be considered.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, air freight, or supply chain operations.
• Must have experience using the Crown system, including entering and updating shipment alerts.
• Experience with time-sensitive freight, recoveries, dispatching, routing, and final-mile deliveries.
• Previous experience supervising or managing drivers, dispatchers, or transportation operations.
• Strong knowledge of transportation operations, freight coordination, and scheduling.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, transportation compliance, and safety procedures.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.
