Summary and ObjectiveThe Human Resources Specialist supports the daily functions of the Human Resources department by administering HR policies, programs, and practices. This role focuses on employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, HR systems, and performance management support, ensuring a positive employee experience and alignment with organizational goals. This is a full-time, onsite role and requires regular presence at our Kinston, North Carolina facility.Essential FunctionsServe as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programsProvide guidance and support to employees and managers on workplace issuesAssist in resolving employee relations concerns, conducting investigations when neededPromote a positive and inclusive workplace cultureMaintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity in HRIS systemsProcess employee lifecycle transactions (e.g., onboarding documentation, status changes, terminations)Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policiesPrepare HR reports, metrics, and documentation as neededManage leave of absence processes, including FMLA, ADA, and other leave programsSupport performance review processes and documentationProvide guidance to managers on performance improvement proceduresAssist with tracking performance evaluation timelines and complianceCoordinate employee training programs and development initiativesTrack training completion and maintain training recordsSupport employee engagement and retention initiativesSkills and AbilitiesStrong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)Ability to handle confidential information with discretionStrong organizational and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., Paycom, Workday, ADP, etc.) and Microsoft OfficeCompetenciesMicrosoft Office SuiteProficient in ExcelHRIS (Human Resources Information System)Integrity and confidentialityAttention to detailCustomer service orientationConflict resolutionTime management and adaptabilityWork EnvironmentTypical office environment with exposure to noise from airplane machinery and jet enginesPhysical DemandsAbility to see, hear, and communicate clearlyAbility to sit, stand, and walk for extended periodsAbility to regularly lift/move up to 30 poundsDress Code and UniformWell-groomed appearanceAdherence to department dress codeTravel RequiredAbility to travel as required (up to 25%)EEO StatementflyExclusive does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sex stereotyping, gender identity, gender expression or transgender status), national origin, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, age, protected genetic information, status as a parent, marital status, political affiliation, or retaliation based on prior protected EEO activity.Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
