Executes intermediate to complex engineering assignments requiring familiarity with several fields of engineering. Conducts research into various fields of engineering to investigate, re‑evaluate and apply results of this research to solve practical problems. Identifies and reports on defects and deficiencies in work done by others. Prepares progress reports. Recommends changes in plans and specifications to suit special conditions. Develops innovative engineering techniques. Generates documentation for approval by others. Reviews part of documentation prepared by others and recommends approval. May be responsible for small work packages. How to thrive in this role? You have at least 5 years of experience with interior aircraft modifications (seat reworks, headliners, railings, bulkhead repair, galleys, arm ledges, appliances, etc.) - required. You will hold a Bachelor of Science Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with two (2) years relevant experience or will have a minimum of eight (8) years of practical mechanical design experience in aviation. Working knowledge of electrical wiring diagrams and wire routing. Working knowledge of integration of ECS systems, waste and potable water systems, and other commodities associated with interior installations. You are proficient creating mechanical drawings using CATIA (required) and AutoCAD (additional). You will have a working knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA, TCCA). You will be proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access). You must be a self-starter and able to handle multiple initiatives effectively. You must exhibit excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. You should be an organized individual, able to work effectively with a variety of cross‑functional individuals, departments and organizations with a general good attitude and disposition.
