JOB SUMMARYThe IT Manager will maintain our information technology systems and networks. They will perform both technical and administrative tasks to ensure functionality and efficiency of computer and telecom (Yealink) systems.JOB DUTIESInstitute protocols for the use of IT across departments and projectsProvide advice on the most suitable IT choicesProvide technical support or training for systems and networksAct as link between end users and higher level supportInstall and configure software and hardware (printers, network cards etc.)Monitor system and network performancePerform troubleshooting, repairs and data restorationPerformance maintenance activities (e.g. backups)Maintain licenses and upgrade schedulesCollaborate with other professionals to maintain standards and functionalityOther duties assigned by the supervisor as neededQualifications:Qualifications Knowledge of:Computer hardware and software configurationsComputer operating systemsInventory and documentation practicesNetwork cabling standardsOrganizational skillsGeneral technical terminologyRequired Abilities:Learn and effectively use hardware and software specific to MPS needsTrain or assist in providing training to end usersTroubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network connectivity problemsWork independently with minimal supervisionCommunicate effectively both orally and in writingEstablish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with othersProject a mature, constructive, stable, and healthy attitude in a learning environmentLearn pertinent procedures and functions quickly and apply them without close and immediate supervisionDemonstrate good interpersonal skills to work with students, teachers, administrators, supervisors, co-workers, vendors, and the publicLearn new skills to keep current with technology trendsInstruct others in the use and care of computer hardware and softwareAdapt to changing technologies and learn the functionality of new equipment and systemsMulti-task while maintaining patience and flexibilityManage time effectively between multiple sites Education and ExperienceGraduation from high school andCollege-level courses specializing in computer operation, installation, maintenance, and repair orTwo (2) years of experience hardware/software support in a corporate networkLicense and Other RequirementsValid California Driver’s License and Proof of InsuranceA+, Network+, MCSA certification preferredPhysical:Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.Hearing and speaking to exchange information.Seeing to read a variety of materials and see computer screens.Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.Sitting and standing for extended periods of time.Walking to diagnose computer problems.Climbing ladders to diagnose problems.Lifting objects up to 60 pounds.Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.Hazard:Working at heights requiring laddersExtended viewing of computer monitorPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
