Electrophysiology Technician

The Electrophysiology (EP) Monitoring Technician provides critical assistance to Electrophysiologists during EP studies, ablations, and cardiac implant procedures. This role involves operating specialized equipment such as GE MacLab and CardioLab systems, facilitating room turnover, coordinating with clinical and vendor teams, and ensuring timely patient care. The technician must have a strong understanding of EP pacing monoverses and collaborate effectively with medical staff to support a dynamic lab environment. Responsibilities:

• Assist Electrophysiologists during EP studies, ablations, and cardiac implant procedures.
• Operate and manage EP monitoring systems including GE MacLab and CardioLab.
• Implement EP pacing monoverses and perform related measurements.
• Coordinate with charge nurses and third-party vendors to ensure team availability for scheduled procedures.
• Communicate with physicians and in-room staff to ensure all equipment and supplies are ready and functional.
• Facilitate room turnover and support on-time starts for procedures.
• Assist with set up for procedures involving multiple mapping systems such as Biosense Webster Carto, Abbott EnsiteX, Boston Scientific Opal, and Medtronic Affera.
• Document procedure details primarily using Epic (preferred but not required).

• RCES license, Radiologic Technologist license, or RN license (New York only).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proficient in EP pacing monoverses and measurements.
• Experience with GE MacLab and CardioLab systems.

• Experience with cardiac implant or structural heart scrub procedures.
• Familiarity with Bloom stimulator equipment.
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records system.
• Knowledge of multiple vendor mapping systems including Carto, Abbott, Opal, and Affera.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced electrophysiology lab environment.
• On-call availability may be required depending on unit needs.
• Must maintain effective communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff and vendors.
• Role requires flexibility to adapt to lab changes and maintain a positive work environment.

• Primarily day shifts with some late night/evening shifts.
• Shift patterns include either 4x10 hour or 3x12 hour shifts.
• On-call shifts as needed per unit requirements.
