The FSQA Manager is responsible for planning, leading, and maintaining food safety and quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. This role provides leadership to food safety and quality staff, oversees sanitation and quality processes within a food processing environment, conducts audits and corrective actions, and develops training related to food safety procedures. This position utilizes HACCP, GMP, and other industry standards to reduce food safety risks, support continuous improvement, and ensure products consistently meet established quality and food safety expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Leads audit preparation processes (e.g., SQF or equivalent certification audits).
• Maintains quality assurance objectives aligned with organizational policies and goals.
• Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities to management, along with corrective actions taken.
• Maintains current knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
• Oversees sanitation operations, including management of external sanitation providers, to ensure safe and sanitary conditions.
• Investigates and resolves customer complaints related to product quality.
• Conducts shelf-life studies.
• Tracks, trends, and reports customer complaints on a regular basis.
• Maintains relevant performance and quality tracking metrics and charts.
• Serves as a subject matter expert and operational leader for GFSI-recognized programs (e.g., SQF or similar frameworks).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience; or
• Associate's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience; or
• 12+ years of progressive experience in quality assurance or food safety in lieu of a degree
• HACCP certification preferred
• GFSI/SQF Practitioner certification preferred
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required in a 24-hour operation
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships in close working environments
