Exciting Opportunity for L&D/PP Nurses! Join Our Team!

Job Description:


- Shift: 12H Nights, 7 PM-7 AM
- Unit Details:
- Labor & Delivery (L&D) and Postpartum (PP)
- 7 L&D Beds, 4 Triage Beds, 27 Postpartum Beds
- 5 Bed Nursery
- Births:
- Approximately 3 births per day, totaling 1545 per year
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS
- BLS
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWOHNN - Intermediate or Advanced)
- Ratios:
- Follows AWOHNN guidelines
- Technology:
- FetalLink System, interacts with Cerner EMR
- Team Structure:
- Charge Nurse present for L&D and PP units
- Resource Nurse available for breaks
- Supported by OB techs for deliveries and intake
- Weekend Requirement:
- 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Call Requirement:
- Optional, but preferred
- Holidays:
- Will work with permanent staff; typically one major and one minor
- Scrub Color:
- Navy
- Support Services Available:
- RT 24/7
- Pharmacy 24/7
- Shifts:
- 12-hour shifts: 7 AM-7:30 PM, 7 PM-7:30 AM
- Experience Required:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience
- At least one prior travel contract preferred
- Floating:
- L&D floats to postpartum; postpartum floats to L&D
- L&D nurses must have postpartum experience
- L&D nurses will float to NICU for grower/feeders
- Patient Population:
- High-risk deliveries, EMT drop-offs, substance abuse withdrawal
- Diverse clientele including Spanish speaking patients
- Transfers to UCLA or other facilities for complex cases
- Orientation:
- Floor-specific orientation for 3 shifts
