Short Description: BLS Required (through AHA or RQI only) Required: NYS RN Licensure Minimum of one (1) year LTC experience and previous supervisory experience Complete Description: Under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units and personally or through subordinates, provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units. Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates the Nursing Department's activities, consistent with the philosophy of nursing in compliance with established policies, procedures, standards and regulations. Assures quality resident care through teaching and supervision of staff on respective shifts. Communicates with Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager regarding identified and potential unit problems and collaborates with Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Managers to resolve problems. Contacts Director of Nursing on off hours for only those critical issues requiring resolution and leaves appropriate communication at work for all other items.
