Overview

CareVet of West Omaha for an experienced full time DVM team member . This opportunity is for a full-time veterinarian who is looking to join our small animal practice in Omaha, Nebraska. In addition to our six figure base, this position offers a $125k bonus package, production bonus plan, clinical support, personalized 1:1 career coaching, schedule flexibility, 401k match, access to our vacation plan, and "true" paid time off.

About the Position
We are looking for an experienced veterinarian who is excited to contribute to a practice that is evolving and expanding. While all applicants will be considered, we have a strong preference for a doctor who enjoys surgery and can help support our surgical caseload. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who values collaboration, autonomy, and high-quality medicine within a supportive environment. We are seeking a veterinarian who is experienced with soft tissue surgery and dentals.

Responsibilities

• Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
• Treat and dress wounds
• Perform surgery on animals
• Test for and vaccinate against diseases
• Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
• Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
• Prescribe medication
• Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
• Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
• Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
• Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
• Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
• Strong fondness and understanding of animals
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of animal behavior
• Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
