AI Integration Engineer

Position Summary Xiphos Partners is seeking a versatile AI Integration Engineer to work at the intersection of data science, software engineering, and applied artificial intelligence. Bridging Xiphos Advanced Technology (XAT) and Xiphos Advanced Sustainment (XAS), you will embed agentic AI capabilities into both internal business processes and customer-facing products. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing production code, designing data pipelines, fine-tuning models, and orchestrating multi-agent systems in support of aerospace, defense, and intelligence missions. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy agentic AI systems- LLM-powered agents, multi-agent orchestration, and tool-using autonomous workflows that automate complex operational tasks across XAT and XAS. Partner with leadership and subject-matter experts to identify high-value AI opportunities across business processes (proposals, sustainment planning, knowledge management, reporting) and translate them into deployed solutions. Build and operate production-grade software end-to-end: clean code, REST API endpoints, containerized services, deployment to cloud or on-prem Linux environments, and ownership from prototype to scaled operations. Perform full-cycle data science work - pipeline design, feature engineering, model selection, training, and evaluation -against business KPIs and mission outcomes. Establish responsible AI practices: evaluation frameworks, drift and failure monitoring, safeguards, and documentation appropriate to a regulated, mission-critical environment. Required Skills Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related technical field; equivalent demonstrated experience accepted. 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, spanning two or more of backend/platform engineering, data science, and applied AI, with a clear trajectory across all three. Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language commonly used for backend and ML/AI development, with proven experience building, caching, and scaling production REST API services. Applied experience building LLM-powered applications and agentic systems: prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), function/tool calling, evaluation, guardrails, and reliable multi-step agent design. Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments, application authentication and security (OAuth/OIDC, token-based auth, encryption), and modern Git and CI/CD workflows. Hands-on experience deploying containerized services to cloud platforms with auto-scaling, including production monitoring, observability, and MLOps practices for model deployment. Salary Range: $130,000-185,000 per year.
