Inpatient Adult Psychiatry opening in west central PA

Position Overview Medical Center is seeking a psychiatrist to join an existing group for the expansion of a new inpatient facility. The facility will have an eight‑bed adolescent unit, 24‑bed adult unit and 12‑bed geropsychiatry unit. Responsibilities The psychiatrist will evaluate and treat a general adult population, with an anticipated patient load of 18–20 patients per day. Responsibilities include rounding on the inpatient units, seeing psychiatry consults in the Medical Center, and participating in the existing inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services, including child and adolescent services, consultation liaison, MAT program, and medical education. Weekday call is currently being handled. Weekend call will be estimated to be 1:8. The psychiatrist may spend up to half a day per week treating opioid‑narcotic recovery patients in the multidisciplinary program. Qualifications Suboxone certification is preferred but not required. Experience or interest in opioid‑assisted treatment is desirable.
