Utility Plant Technician

Spire is seeking a Utility Plant Technician to support operations in St. Louis, MO. This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of buildings, compressors, and associated auxiliary equipment located within facilities, outdoor installations, and underground pits/vaults. The role also supports equipment and processes related to natural gas injection and withdrawal, oil field production, propane transportation, and NGL (Natural Gas Liquids) pipeline operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient system performance.

Duties and Responsibilities Constructs, tests, alters or improves diverse piping, valving, and machinery components. Operates all machine shop and automated equipment when required. Inspects and maintains all Gas Supply Department equipment. Uses all hand and power tools and equipment. Burns and cuts with oxyacetylene. Welds structural steel with electric arc welder or MIG welder. Assists others and performs less skilled work as assigned. All other duties as assigned.

Required Education (certifications, licenses) High school diploma or GED equivalent, required. Must be able to obtain a DOT certification and pass CDL test with all proper endorsements to fill this position.

Required knowledge, skill and abilities May be required to work off hour shifts, and overtime as required. Required to work inside and outside throughout the year. May be required to work from heights.
