GUEST PARKING ATTENDANT– JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Valet / Parking Team Member Location: Sonia’s Seafood – Miami, FL Reports To: General Manager / Assistant Manager / Floor Manager Position Summary The Valet / Parking Team Member is responsible for managing the parking area, directing guests during arrival and departure, and ensuring safe and efficient traffic flow during all business hours, especially high-volume periods. This role also supports restaurant operations by assisting with food running when needed , helping maintain speed of service and guest satisfaction. This is a guest-facing, fast-paced role that requires strong awareness, communication, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities at once. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Parking & Traffic Control Direct vehicles entering and exiting the property Guide guests to available parking spaces Manage traffic flow during peak hours to avoid congestion Monitor parking lot safety and organization Assist guests with directions and parking questions Ensure smooth and safe vehicle movement at all times Guest Interaction Greet guests upon arrival in a friendly and professional manner Provide directions to the restaurant or designated areas Answer basic questions and assist guests as needed Maintain a welcoming and helpful presence outside Food Running & Service Support Assist with running food from the kitchen to guests when needed Ensure food is delivered quickly and to the correct location Communicate with servers and kitchen to support service flow Help maintain speed of service during busy periods Safety & Awareness Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times Ensure pedestrian and vehicle safety Monitor for hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents Report any issues to management immediately Cleanliness & Organization Keep parking and entrance areas clean and presentable Remove trash or debris from parking areas when needed Ensure entrance areas remain organized and guest-ready Team Support Assist FOH team as needed during high-volume periods Communicate effectively with management and team members Support overall restaurant operations when needed Operational Focus Parking flow and organization Guest arrival experience Safety and awareness Speed of service support Performance Expectations Maintain organized and safe parking flow Provide friendly and professional guest interaction Support food running during peak hours Remain alert, proactive, and responsive Contribute to smooth restaurant operations Qualifications Customer service experience preferred Ability to work outdoors for extended periods Strong communication and awareness skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Language Requirements Spanish required Basic to intermediate English required Schedule & Availability Full-time or part-time positions available Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays Must be available during peak hours and busy shifts Ability to work 6–10+ hour shifts Compensation & Growth Pay based on experience Growth opportunities available Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (6–10+ hours) Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to move quickly and remain active throughout the shift Exposure to heat, rain, humidity, and traffic conditions Fast-paced, high-traffic area Exposure to restaurant operations and food service Standards & Compliance Must follow all company policies and safety procedures Maintain a professional appearance and conduct Ensure safe and responsible behavior at all times Additional Requirements Strong attendance and punctuality required Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Must be comfortable working outdoors for extended periods Must be alert, responsible, and safety-focused Must be willing to support restaurant operations as needed #J-18808-Ljbffr The Root Restaurant & Bar
