Maintenance Technician

Habitat America is seeking an experienced PART TIME (25 hours- 5 hours per day + on-call) Maintenance Technician to join our team in Hyattsville, Maryland . This position is primarily based at Renaissance Square Artist Housing and will also provide maintenance support to other communities within our portfolio.

What You'll Do
- Complete general apartment maintenance and service requests
- Perform appliance troubleshooting and repairs
- Assist with apartment turnovers, including painting, drywall repairs, and carpentry
- Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs
- Work with contractors and help ensure quality workmanship
- Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation
- Work closely with the Community Manager to maintain a safe, well-maintained property
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of apartment maintenance experience
- Experience with appliance repair, drywall, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical work
- HVAC/CFC certification strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Willingness to work weekends and participate in an on-call schedule
