Maintenance Technician

Habitat America is seeking an experienced PART TIME (25 hours- 5 hours per day + on-call)  Maintenance Technician to join our team in Hyattsville, Maryland . This position is primarily based at Renaissance Square Artist Housing and will also provide maintenance support to other communities within our portfolio.

What You'll Do

• Complete general apartment maintenance and service requests
• Perform appliance troubleshooting and repairs
• Assist with apartment turnovers, including painting, drywall repairs, and carpentry
• Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs
• Work with contractors and help ensure quality workmanship
• Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation
• Work closely with the Community Manager to maintain a safe, well-maintained property

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of apartment maintenance experience
• Experience with appliance repair, drywall, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical work
• HVAC/CFC certification strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
• Willingness to work weekends and participate in an on-call schedule
