Job Title: Manufacturing Lead

Job Description

As a Manufacturing Lead for the first shift, you will be responsible for leading a team to achieve manufacturing goals while ensuring compliance with medical device and ISO13485 standards. This role involves hands-on manufacturing, operating machines and microscopes to build glass pipettes, and tracking and reporting completed work using Microsoft Teams and Excel. You will also drive process improvements and initiatives within the cleanroom.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to achieve manufacturing goals while maintaining compliance with medical device and ISO13485 standards.
• Perform hands-on manufacturing tasks, including operating machines and microscopes to build glass pipettes.
• Track and report completed work using computer systems, including Microsoft Teams and Excel.
• Drive process improvements and initiatives within the cleanroom.
• Operate a microscope for at least 5 hours a day.
• Expedite processes while maintaining compliance and achieving KPIs.
• Balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on execution. 60% of your day will be spent doing the manufacturing job, working under a microscope, 40% of your job will be leading the team, completing reports and tracking manufacturing output and efficiency metrics.

Essential Skills

• Experience in production, assembly, and supervision.
• Supervisory skills with experience leading a team of 10-15 people.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Teams and Excel.
• Ability to expedite processes while maintaining compliance and achieving KPIs.
• Experience in production management and packaging.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with cross-functional teams and supporting engineers in process validation.
• Ability to troubleshoot and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Environment

You will work the first shift from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with potential overtime in the first month extending 2-3 hours into the second shift. The training timeline is approximately 3-6 months, covering processes, SOPs, and cleanroom protocols. You will work in an ISO Class 8 cleanroom, adhering to all cleanroom standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
