Job Title

RN – Emergency Department (Pediatric)

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Rotating Shifts | Primarily 7:30 AM–8:00 PM or 11:30 AM–12:00 AM; occasional 3:30 PM–4:00 AM shifts | Every other weekend and one major holiday required | No call

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness for pediatric patients ages 0–20
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with state practice standards and organizational policies
• Serve as the primary point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments
• Perform conscious sedation and operate unit equipment including Alaris pumps, EPOC, and iStat point-of-care testing devices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary and external care teams including EMS, crisis services, and law enforcement as needed
• May assist with rapid response calls and provide charge nurse coverage on night shift

Required Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in the state of practice or valid compact license
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; minimum 2 years of emergency department experience preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to direct patient care
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required
• NIHSS certification and CPI or equivalent de-escalation training required; copy of nursing diploma or transcript required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Recent emergency department or critical care experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification a plus
