Ultimately, this position is vital in maintaining the clinic's standards of care and operational efficiency, directly impacting patient outcomes and satisfaction.High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant training program preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum of 1 year experience working as a medical assistant in a clinical setting, preferably in orthopedics or related specialty. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software.Experience working in an orthopedic or bone and joint clinic environment. Additional certifications such as Phlebotomy or EKG Technician. Familiarity with orthopedic terminology, procedures, and rehabilitation protocols. Strong customer service skills and experience in patient education. Ability to speak a second language relevant to the patient population served.Prepare patients for orthopedic examinations and procedures by taking vital signs, medical histories, and documenting symptoms. Assist physicians during clinical procedures, including casting, splinting, and administering injections as directed. Manage patient records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals to specialists or diagnostic services. Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care, medication instructions, and rehabilitation protocols. Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment by adhering to infection control and safety standards. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to support coordinated care.The Medical Assistant Registered utilizes clinical skills daily to perform patient assessments, assist with orthopedic procedures, and ensure accurate documentation, which is essential for effective treatment planning.
