Infrastructure Engineer (Network and Systems Administrator)

We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (Network and Systems Administrator) responsible for supporting enterprise production infrastructure and ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of critical systems supporting the Pega Smart Investigate platform (PFIX environment). The role focuses on infrastructure operations, system administration, production support, monitoring, automation, and reliability of enterprise environments across cloud and on-prem platforms.

This position ensures stable and secure operations by maintaining infrastructure health, responding to production incidents, and supporting platform deployments in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations & Platform Reliability

• Provide hands-on support for production infrastructure environments supporting Pega Smart Investigate and PFIX platforms.
• Ensure high availability and stability of systems through proactive monitoring, system maintenance, and operational support activities.
• Participate in on-call rotations and support resolution of critical production issues.

Incident, Problem, and Change Management

• Respond to infrastructure and system incidents and ensure timely restoration of services.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring infrastructure issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support change and release activities to ensure safe and controlled production deployments.
• Maintain system stability through coordination with application, database, and network teams.

Observability & Monitoring

• Configure and support monitoring, alerting, and logging systems using tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, or similar platforms.
• Monitor system health, performance metrics, and infrastructure availability.
• Identify and reduce operational issues through improved monitoring and alerting.

Automation & Operational Efficiency

• Develop scripts using Python, Java, or Shell scripting to automate routine infrastructure tasks.
• Reduce manual operational workload through automation and standardization.
• Support system maintenance automation and operational process improvements.

Infrastructure & Platform Support

• Support Linux/Unix and Windows server environments in production and non-production systems.
• Manage Kubernetes/OpenShift container platforms for application deployments and infrastructure support.
• Assist in cloud infrastructure operations across AWS/Azure environments.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, connectivity, and system performance issues.

Database & Middleware Support

• Support connectivity and performance of enterprise databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL.
• Assist with middleware platforms including WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, and messaging systems (MQ/Kafka).
• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve infrastructure-related application issues.

Batch Scheduling & Job Management

• Support job scheduling and batch processing using AutoSys.
• Monitor scheduled jobs and ensure successful execution.
• Troubleshoot job failures and coordinate resolution with relevant teams.

Operational Readiness & Governance

• Ensure infrastructure systems meet performance, availability, and reliability requirements.
• Support production readiness checks prior to releases.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and system procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in Infrastructure Engineering, System Administration, or Network Administration
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows server environments
• Understanding of basic networking concepts (DNS, routing, load balancing, firewalls)
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes / OpenShift
• Experience in production support and incident management
• Monitoring tools: Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, or Prometheus
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Java, or Shell
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
• Experience with AutoSys or similar scheduling tools
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in production support environments (including on-call rotations)

General Experience

• Minimum 2+ years in Infrastructure / System / Network Administration roles
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting Pega platform environments
• Experience in banking or enterprise corporate environments
• Exposure to automation, monitoring improvements, or AIOps tools
• Interest in AI-driven infrastructure operations
