Our department has a strong relationship with the board-certified Emergency Room Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. We are a STEMI and stroke certified Emergency Department. Our patient population ranges from neonatal to geriatric and we care for all complaints. We see many high acuity patients with about a 33% admission rate.This is a desirable department as we see a high number of acute patients, but this environment is also very high-stress and high-emotion. It is imperative that our nurses have a great attitude, strong work ethic and most importantly have compassion to care for those who have entrusted us to take care of them.
