Works in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, creating personalized, evidence‑based treatment plans using exercise and manual therapy. Essential Work Functions Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement physical therapy treatment plans using various techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain. Operate specialized equipment and modalities safely, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration. Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and accurately document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management. Maintain a safe treatment environment, adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities. Collate discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions to community or home‑based settings. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills. English language proficiency and basic PC skills. Physical abilities: maintain stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend. Interpersonal skills: work effectively with diverse personnel and maintain a positive attitude. Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, assistance with procedures, use of equipment. Mental requirements: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under supervision or independently, handle irregular activity schedules.
