Job Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience in a long-term care facility or similar medically oriented setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers must be obtained within 6 months of employment
• Knowledge of basic nursing assistant skills, including vital signs, output measurement, and recognition of abnormal signs and symptoms
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately
• Ability to communicate clearly in simple English, both verbally and in writing
• Strong observation, reporting, and documentation skills
• Patience, tact, emotional stability, and a respectful approach to patient care

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care in a long-term care environment
• Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and hydration
• Monitor and report physical or mental changes, including abnormal signs and symptoms
• Support restorative care activities, including range of motion and use of assistive devices
• Follow infection control, universal precautions, and patient safety practices
• Use proper body mechanics while assisting patients
• Work collaboratively with the treatment team to help meet patient needs
• Document observations accurately and professionally
